PRIMITIVE PUNCH NEEDLE WALL HANGING

Hello Dear Friends and Neighbors, I have been quite busy with finishing up a 911 project and so excited that after a very long time of this rug being in the works and would you believe this old soul ran out of one of the main antique wool colors I was using to create this special Wall Hanging rug. Darn. So now I am on the hunt to locate the mill company owner who sold me the antique wool yarn. Please wish me luck.

So for now dear friends I am posting another Punch Needle Wall Hanging rug that I though you might enjoy. It measure about 17 inches by 22 inches. I am going to share with you what this little piece was made with. This is another one of those I am going to try it projects. I used Lyons Brand wool yarn (bought from Jo-Anne fabric store) and used an Oxford punch needle size 14 fine for smaller work. don't you think this little project turn out really nice? It goes to show once again to try different yarns and what-ever your heart desire.

It is so much fun using the punch needles made by Amy Oxford and did you know if you use a size ten Oxford punch and a 7 or 7.5 cut you can punch these wool strips and create a wonderful creation that looks and feels just like tradsional hooking.
Until the next time have fun creating and follow your hearts desire.
Let not your heart be troubled nor affaired.

I love using yarn for punching, nice to be able to just punch without cutting. I look for old wool yarns in the thrifts, love the old rug yarns that I can over dye, gives it a nice look.

Beautiful piece and perfect for summer.
