HOOKED RUG - CATCH A FALLING STAR

Hello Dear Friend's and Neighbors, Thought I would post a special project that we did as a contest for a wool group I belong to.
I really enjoyed creating this sweet piece and made mine a rug and as most creative folks do I had to put my thumb print on it and thus changed the colors and design a bunch.
The background is black and hooked with number 8 wool strips as well as the stars and boarder around the sheep. The sheep is hooked with my first wool yarn I spun while living in Oregon. My poor teacher didn't know what a job she would have teaching me to spin yarn. The spinning wheel would go right then left and back again and to tell the truth I thought I would never get the hang of it or did I dream my first wool yarn would end up in a special project. To finish this sweet little rug it was trimmed with a black and off white rug fringe that was bought at a close out sale. SMILES I love finding good bargains.

Sorry for being MIA but the storm here was quite something and it took out the power to many homes including mine. At long last most of us mountain dwellers are back in our homes.
Time to say goodbye and create another memories for the soul so until then have a magical day.
Many thanks for visiting my blog.
